NWOPCS offers free transportation to and from school for our students. All participants must abide by the School Bus Rules & Regulations at all times. We ask for your cooperation in reviewing the following information with your child to ensure we are in compliance with state transportation laws, and continue to provide this valuable service to our students. The safety and well-being of all our students is our priority.

For the safety of students, bus drivers, other motorists and pedestrians, the NWOPCS has set rules for students who ride our bus. Students who violate these requirements will face discipline and/or lose their bus riding privileges.
Students who misbehave on the bus may be denied rides and shall be subject to disciplinary action as defined in Chapter 19 of the Board of Education’s Hawaiʻi Administrative Rules. When the school receives a School Bus Incident Report, the Poʻokumu will conduct an investigation of the incident and notify the parents or caretakers of the outcome.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that gives parents certain protections with regard to their children’s education records, such as report cards, transcripts, disciplinary records, contact and family information, and class schedules. As a parent, you have the right to review your child’s education records and to request changes under limited circumstances.
